The Relic Forging System turns weapons, armor, shields, tools, spellcasting focuses, and wondrous gear into evolving campaign rewards.

Instead of replacing equipment every few levels, characters can discover a meaningful base item, bind it to their story, gather monster parts and rare materials, then upgrade it over time.  

This system is designed to work alongside standard magic items. A character may still find a +1 sword, a cloak of protection, or a wand of secrets. Relic Forging simply adds another path: gear that grows with the character.
